About

The Uttrakhand Cricket Association was established in the year 2006 by 9 founding members out of which, the 4 founding directors namely Late. Akhilesh Das Gupta, Mr. Ashok Bambi, Mr. Divya Nautiyal and Mr. Amit Chaturvedi took the reins of the company in their hands in order to promote the game of cricket in the state of Uttrakhand and to ensure that the talented players of the Uttrakhand receive their due and get a platform in order to showcase their exceptional skills.

It was due to the efforts of the UCA that the first affiliation committee for the state of Uttrakhand invited all stake-holders to present their claims in the year 2009. Further, in the year 2016, owing to the relentless efforts of the UCA, the BCCI appointed a committee comprising of former India International cricketer and Coach Mr. Anshuman Gaekwad to overlook into the issue of affiliation of the state of Uttrakhand.

Mr. Divya Nautiyal, on behalf of the UCA, then decided to approach the Hon’ble Supreme Court in order to ensure that the state of Uttrakhand receives its fair due, and filed an intervention application. The same was disposed of by the Hon’ble Supreme Court with directions to the COA to look into the grievances of the UCA. The COA, in compliance of the orders as passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, invited all stake-holders and then decided to form the Uttrakhand Cricket Consensus Committee.

The UCA was vested with the responsibility of conducting and over-seeing the game of cricket at the Under-19 level in the state of Uttrakhand, with Mr. Divya Nautiyal having been nominated as the representative in the UCCC on behalf of the UCA. The UCA and Mr. Nautiyal, fulfilled their responsibility to the utmost satisfaction of everyone, the state of Uttrakhand performed exceptionally well in its first season, and the players received numerous accolades. A few of our players were further recognized by not only being given a chance to play for the state Ranji Team, but were also selected to represent India Under-19 team against Bangladesh, South Africa, Afghanistan. This goes to show the perseverance and grit with which the UCA has operated since its inception and the fact that the UCA and its esteemed office-bearers and individuals shall leave no stone unturned in order to ensure that the state of Uttrakhand receives its fair due, and that its players are not only able to showcase their exceptional skills and talent on the national level, but on international level as well.
